At the end of my placement the director wanted to have a briefing with me to discuss my time at the studio.
Overall I received some really positive feedback about my time a the studio from the director. below I listed a few main points that he mentioned.

— Good work ethic
— Always punctual
— Adaptable style
— Good concepts
— Portfolio really stands out so far due to the considerations you think of when branding a product.
This again boosted my confidence as a designer and solidified my thoughts about working in the music industry. I also asked about some things I could improve upon, consider and some concerns I had when going into level 06 and my overall practice which I listed below.
— Attention to detail with typography, be more clinical, consider even spacing and tracking.
— Pay attention to paragraphs and indents with editorial or type based work.
— Work out margins, use placeholder text and consider the level of importance when it comes to arranging text.
— Don't be afraid to clean your computer and delete old work.
— It's okay to look at other people work to influence your layout and style, just aim to make it your own.
— Look into the following designers Mark Farro, Paul Rand, Muller Brokmen, Otle Aicher
— Don't show all your ideas when pitching, choose your best 3 — 4 to show clients.
— Never be offended when people don't like your work.
— Don't worry about having a house style, it's not important because clients want different things.
What have I learnt?
— Software Skills
— Presentation Skill
— Time Management
— Working in Industry
Overview
At the end of my placement I was also offered a freelance position where I will be sent over any small run jobs that need to be done, and I have been offered to come back for more experience for my PPP.
This has been a really beneficial and enjoyable experience for me as a designer because I have worked in a sector I am passionate about in my practice and also for a studio that I have been following for sometime. It was really good to get some advice on my work from an industry professional and have again asked to ensure I keep in contact.
