PPP: EXTENDED PRACTICE CRITIQUE

Today we had a crit for the work we had done so far in our extended practice module. The brief I chose to present was Ôrbit as it was the main brief started. I presented a collection of logo designs, a mock up book and other items which are detailed below.

• Experiment with the logo a bit further, consider moving around the arrows around
• Possibly expand target audience.
• Fold out map — A3. Possibly include velcro pads so it can be using in and out of the book.
• Consider showing the currency for each country
• For your layout designs consider using the countries culture and applying that to your designs
• Change the main attraction from Bondi beach to Barrier reef
• Put the images in colour
• A6 size like a passport
• Possibly change Cancun to a different country
• Consider going to Waterstones and looking up at travel books
• Get primary research from people who have visited these places
• Hard back biding or biding that is durable, consider a laminated cover

The feedback I received from the crit was informative and helpful for me to develop my project further. I really want to change the size of my publication to A6 as it would synthesise the idea of travel and be the same size as a passport which would make it easy to store. Another thing I will take away from this crit amongst other things is to develop my logo further and make it more stronger. Overall it's been beneficial to have this at an early stage!
