Concept
Considering the colourful content of my portfolio I want to create a presence that is simple and clean cut that highlights my practice in a professional light through a consistent branded identity, using the brand name ‘J’nae Fox’.
My interests in fashion and music should subtly reflect in my personal branding to give an essence of my future career ambitions.
With plans of travelling around the world, the presence should be durable and easily accessible for clientele and potential employers to engage with and relate to.
Music Visual Influences
Looking into the art of music I wanted to focus on ways I could incorporate this into my branding. I decided to collect a range of visual references from all aspects of music culture for influence.
I don't want it to be cliche! but in looking into sheet music, I really like the arrangement and shape of type and notes. Also the grids it uses could be a subtle reference I could introduce into my personal branding.
I then decided to research into fashion references, again from a selection of aspects from music culture
The layout of imagery in this acne insert is clean, professional and eye catching, this is something I could consider in the layout of my work in my online presence.
The muted tones used in the acne branding is really simplistic but works beautifully letting the companies look books stand out against the earthy tones.
I love the range over materials used in the Fine Folk branding, the introduction of a strong serif type face that exudes sophistication and editorial design qualities.
Overview
In looking into some visual references I feel that I have an idea of how I can incorporate features of these creative fields into my practice through type, layout and materials. My next step is to look into existing brand identities for influence on the deliverables that would be appropriate for my future career ambitions.
