MESSAGE + DELIVERY - POSTER EVALUATION

To gain effective feedback on my poster design we had session where as a group we anonymously analysed a set of posters from our peers. I found the session helpful in me giving creative criticism and suggestions to others a receiving them to make my work better.

I was particularly pleased with the feedback I received as I felt my work successfully communicated the message I wanted to portray and the design decisions I made where also understood.

Things I did successfully

some of the comments that stood out to me about my design where
  • "Each design is distinct and clearly understood"
  • "The type and image is high impact without actually reading it, the blacked out eyes are most memorable"
  • "The imagery of the girls body falling apart is shocking and controversial"
  • "Very focused and shows research well, a lot of information but not to much. The message is clear and shown in a aesthetically pleasing way"
  • "Very memorable, something you won't forget"
  • "Uses colours appropriately/ connotes mood and shows the message clearly"
  • "The posters all link together visually and it's easy to see this"
I was happy the message was clear to my critics as they fitted into the target market I was designing for.

Things I need to consider

some of the comments that stood out to me about my design where
  • "The imagery could be developed further e.g the drugs above her head"
  • "The choice of font makes only the letter 'e' lowercase"
  • "I don't understand why the letters 'i.o.u' are in blue"
  • "The colours of blue are slightly a different colour"
  • " The lost souls on the cap makes it look like an advertisement and is slightly misleading"
  • "Statements, facts, statistic and rhetorical questions don't make it simple and to the point"
I agreed with the suggestions made and will take on board the comments when developing my design further.
