STUDY TASK 1: WHY AM I HERE - WHAT DO I WANT TO LEARN

Using the online resources that you have been introduced to in the module briefing and based on questions raised in the studio workshop and experiences of the first 2 weeks of the course:


identify and explain 5 reasons why you chose to study on this programme.
  • The reputation is upholds in the education and design community.
  • The small cohort which allows more one on one time with the tutors.
  • The description of the course was appealing to what I wanted to do and who I wanted to become as a designer, in regards to being independent and learn skills in how to start my own business.
  • The location of the university was close to home, incase I got home sick! :)
  • The facilities and range of other creative courses it offered for me to collaborate and immerse myself in.
Identify and explain 5 things that you want to learn during your time on the programme.
  • Different skills in design production.
  • How to present myself in a professional manner.
  • Simply grow and develop as designer.
  • How to expand on my digital skills, e.g web and app design.
  • Learning how to contact studios and working in a studio environment

To start of our workshop we were set into our presentation groups were we allocated 10-12 things we achieved over the course of the first year.

  • Learn how to screen print independently
  • Using certain programmes and tools and short cut
  • Management of time and punctuality
  • Management of money
  • Be more confident in presenting
  • Creative & theoretical writing 
  • Summative and formative feedback
  • Knowledge of contemporary resources

We then collaborated all our idea's together and created a class list of our successes in the first year.
